About us!

We the bloggers are Marcus and Pauline and are from the small town of Trafalgar in Victoria, Australia. We have a daughter and three sons as well as three grand children.

We have got to the stage in our lives where we would like to do more travel and less work! For the last 20 years or so we have run our own businesses working long hours and now it’s time to back off and start ticking off some bucket list items!

We are following in the footsteps of Marcus’s mother Hazel who in 1992 did a very similar trip to the one we have planned. Hazel even wrote a book about the trip called “African Adventure……A Senile Safari”.

The trip will start in Durban where the vehicles are shipped to and then head up to Lesotho before following the Garden Route around to Cape Town. Then we go north through Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda and across to Kenya. We plan to leave our Landcruiser and Kimberley Karavan in Nairobi and fly home to spend Christmas with our family. On our return we will head back out to Uganda, Ethopia and then back through Kenya and Tanzania with a side trip to Zanzibar for a bit of R&R. Then further south to Mozambique and hopefully a side trip out to Madagascar. We continue south through Mozambique and Swaziland to finish in Durban where we ship the vehicles back.
